New mobile PO in Cambourne

A new weekly mobile post office service, parked in The Hub, Cambourne, started on 6th September – four years after the PO in Lloyds Pharmacy closed following the resignation of the postmaster and the withdrawal of the premises for post office use.

Education: Final funding formula announced

On Thursday 14th September, the Secretary of State for Education, Justine Greening, made a statement in the House of Commons to announce the Department’s plans to introduce a national fairer funding formula for schools.

Health was on my agenda this month as I visited Addenbrooke’s to shadow the bed managers in the operations centre.  They have the challenging job of managing patient flow and beds across the whole hospital, 24 hours a day.

250 Club has a party

Some 35 people attended the 250 Club annual draw at the lovely home of Robert and Penny Cook in Green End, Comberton on Friday.  Naturally, being a Conservative event, delicious canapés and other tasty niceties were laid on together wine (it was a licenced event) and soft drinks.

SCDC clears much rubbish from village rec

South Cambridgeshire District Council workers have removed 420 kg – the equivalent of 17 wheelie bins full – of rubbish that were left behind by Travellers who pulled onto Stapleford recreation ground.
